Fly Further with Emirates & United Airlines’ Codeshare Partnership for Enhanced Travel Options

Codeshare

On March 30th, Emirates and United Airlines began their codeshare partnership, which will provide passengers with better connectivity options when flying between the US and the Middle East. The partnership was announced six months ago with the goal of increasing interlining activities and establishing a codeshare agreement between the two airlines.

Enhancing Customer Offerings

The codeshare partnership launch allows Emirates customers traveling to the US to connect to over 150 destinations in United Airlines’ vast domestic network. This covers Central and South America, the Caribbean Islands, Canada, and Mexico. Emirates passengers can enjoy improved customer services, such as receiving a single ticket with Emirates baggage allowance and baggage transfers to their final destination.

Expanded Footprint in the US

Through the partnership, Emirates will increase its presence in the US by linking passengers from three of the country’s largest airport hubs: Chicago O’Hare International Airport, Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport, and San Francisco International Airport. Travelers heading to destinations like Detroit can take a direct flight from Dubai to Chicago or Houston and then transfer to a United Airlines flight for their final destination. Emirates’ Skywards members can earn and use miles on all flights within United Airlines’ global network.

Extended Reach Across Regions

By activating the codeshare partnership, United Airlines can expand its reach to other regions globally. US travelers can now make use of United Airlines’ services to connect to Emirates flights bound for Dubai through the three major hubs. After arriving at Dubai International Airport, passengers can continue their journey to various distinctive destinations in the Middle East, Africa, Central Asia, and the Indian subcontinent.

Benefits for MileagePlus Members

Emirates Skywards members receive comprehensive rewards, while MileagePlus members can only earn miles on specific flights. These flights include United Airlines’ daily service from Newark Liberty International Airport to Dubai International Airport, as well as select Emirates-operated flights to certain destinations in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia.

The codeshare partnership of Emirates and United Airlines will offer more choices to passengers traveling between the US and the Middle East. With an increased number of destinations available on both airlines, the world becomes much more accessible. This partnership aims to improve customer services and expand the presence of both airlines, resulting in a smooth travel experience for passengers worldwide.
