Recap of Dubai Airshow 2021 Day3

On the third day of the great Dubai Air Show 2021, there are many agreements between many very well-known air manufacture and airline companies. Also, new deals are made to widen the aviation world in many ways and make different cooperation between worldwide airline carriers companies.

On the third day of the great Air Show in Dubai, Emirates airlines announced retro-fitting 105 aircraft with its new premium economy seats across 52(A380) Airbus and 53 (Boeing 777), which will be completed in mid 2024s. Also, Emirates is planning to have 111 aircraft with premium economy cabins by mid 2024s. On the A380 Emirates will install 56 seats at the front of the main deck in a 2-4-2 configuration. Also, 24 premium economy seats will be installed on the Boeing 777s at 2-4-2 configuration. According to this retrofit, Boeing will lose 5 rows in its business class seats to fit the changes. Emirates’ premium economy cabins are now one of the best in the sky, the served seats reach 40 inches and seat width up to 19, 5 inches and 8 inches seat recline into a cozy cradle position. The president of Emirates declared the intention of installing a brand new business class cabin in the Boeing 777 fleet.

Toki Air and Afrijet among ATR commitments:

ATR signed a letter intended with Toki Air, ATR the number one world regional aircraft manufacturer. Toke Air is a new Japanese regional airline that will be operated in 2022 based in Niigata airport with the vision of “free in the sky” to present sustainable solutions and enhance regional aviation.

This cooperation will achieve the main target of Toki Air which is the revitalizing of the city of Niigata by increasing the movement between surrounding regions. Through this cooperation, Toki Air and ATR discuss adding ATR 42 aircraft to the airline fleet and present the ATR 42-600S variant – for STOL, Short Take-Off, and Landing. The first delivery is expected to be at the beginning of 2025. Toki Air selected ATR definitely to support and enhance the regional connectivity in countries like Japan and to reduce CO2 emissions during the operation. In addition to Niigata airport, Toki intends to operate in Sado airport on Sado Island. The challenge will be in landing and taking off in the Sado’s short runway which only 890 meters, where ATR 42-600S will be fit in. Toki will be the first in operating this type of aircraft in the purchase of ATR.

ATR and Afrijet:

ATR finalizes the sale of three ATR 72-600 aircraft to the central African airline Afrijet who intend to replace them with part of its ATR 72-500 fleet. ATR 72-600 will be equipped with the latest engines generation P&WC engine, the PW127XT-M which operates with more efficiency and less burned fuel. The deal shows how ATR is effective and able to widen its networks.

Memorandum of Understanding between Airbus and Jazeera Airways:

Airbus signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Jazeera Airways, the Kuwait-based carrier. This with signed by the CEO of Jazeera Airways Rohit Ramachandran and the Head of Airbus International Christian Scherer, this for 20 (A320neos) and eight (A321neos.) The CEO of Jazeera Airways explained that they can double their fleet to 35 aircraft by 2026. Also these types of aircraft help in extending the network and flexibility of reaching medium and longer destinations from Kuwait, and giving the customers more choices of different and new destinations.

The family of A320neo is gathering the latest technologies with the generation of new engines Sharklets and aerodynamics which works with 20% fuel savings and reducing in CO2 emissions in the comparison with the previous aircraft’s generations.

Saudi Airlines signed agreement with Inmarsat:

During the Dubai Air Show, Saudi airlines signed four agreements for the purpose of developing a communications system, increasing operational efficiency, and improving travel experiences for passengers. These agreements were signed with Inmarsat, the world leader at mobile communications, a leader in engineering, technical services, and electronic systems. This will supply 35 of the group’s new Airbus A321neo, A321XLR aircraft with GX aviation network the world’s first and only inflight broadband solution with reliable, seamless high-speed global coverage provided through a single operator, used by many of the world’s leading airlines. According to this agreement, Saudi will be the first in the kingdom to use the GX aviation network and the first in middle-east since Coved-19 to adopt new technology.

Rolls-Royce and Silk Way West in re-engine agreement:

Rolls-Royce a British multinational aerospace and defense company incorporated signed an agreement with Silk Way West Airlines an Azerbaijani cargo airline of re-engine airplanes fleet Boeing 747-400 freighters. Rolls-Royce will provide a replacement to the Azerbaijan cargo airline with five of its Boeing 747-400Fs providing its freighters felt with 20.000 flight cycles of engine for the next five years.

Nigeria’s Ibom Air orders ten A220s

 New Indian carrier’s order valued at nearly $9 billion

The Indian carrier has ordered 72(737 MAX) airplanes from Alaska Air and Boeing to build its fleet valued at $9Billion. On the third day of Dubai Airshow 2021, the ministry of defense declared about 6 deals with value 4 Milliard, 257 million, and 401 thousand DH between local and international companies. The total deals made are 16 deals through the first three days with a value of 20 Milliard, 718 Million, and 446 thousand DH.
