Flight Attendant’s Attitude Results in Cancellation of Air Canada Flight

A recent incident aboard an Air Canada flight from Casablanca to Montreal took a surprising turn when a flight attendant’s confrontation with passengers led to the cancellation of the flight. The incident occurred on Air Canada flight AC73, which was scheduled to depart from Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport at 08:50 on Friday, July 26, heading to Montreal Trudeau International Airport with an expected arrival time of 11:50.

Flight AC73, operated six times weekly between these two francophone cities, had just begun taxiing for takeoff when tensions escalated. Data from Flightradar24 confirms the aircraft had left the gate and was on the runway when the event unfolded.

A video shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) captured the incident, showing a bilingual flight attendant reprimanding passengers in both French and English, saying, “I don’t want no bullying against my crew ok? Everyone behave.”

The situation escalated when a passenger requested a blanket due to the excessive air conditioning, leading to a confrontation. The flight attendant responded by summoning local police to remove the passenger from the aircraft. In solidarity with the disembarked passenger, other travelers decided to leave the plane, prompting Air Canada to cancel the flight.

The aircraft, a 23-year-old Airbus A330-300 with the registration C-GHLM (serial number 419), was returned to the gate.

The next day, the flight was rescheduled, operating as AC2073. The replacement service departed on Saturday, July 27, at 15:08, completing the seven-hour and 11-minute journey to Montreal and landing at 17:19. It remains uncertain if the flight attendant involved in the incident was aboard the rescheduled flight.
