About the Sukhoi SuperJet 100-95LR

The Sukhoi SuperJet 100-95LR is a regional aircraft designed for short-to-medium-haul routes. It is a variant of the Sukhoi SuperJet 100 (SSJ100) series, developed by the Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company in collaboration with international partners like Boeing and Alenia Aeronautica.

Key Features:

  1. Capacity: The SSJ100-95LR can accommodate up to 98 passengers in a single-class configuration, or a mix of business and economy classes depending on airline requirements.
  2. Range: This long-range variant has an extended range of up to approximately 4,578 kilometers (2,470 nautical miles), allowing it to operate longer routes than the standard SSJ100.
  3. Engine: It is powered by two PowerJet SaM146 turbofan engines, designed by a joint venture between Snecma (France) and NPO Saturn (Russia). These engines deliver thrust in the range of 62–71 kN and meet ICAO Chapter 4 noise standards.
  4. Cabin: The cabin layout is flexible, with configurations offering a 3+2 arrangement in economy class and 2+2 in business class. It includes modern amenities like LED lighting, large overhead bins, and advanced air conditioning systems.
  5. Performance: The aircraft has a cruising speed of Mach 0.81 (approximately 860 km/h) and a service ceiling of 12,500 meters (41,000 feet).

Development and Operations

The SSJ100 program was initiated to modernize Russia’s regional aviation market. The aircraft completed its maiden flight in 2008, received Russian certification in 2009, and entered commercial service in 2011. Its marketing and after-sales support are handled internationally through Superjet International, a joint venture between Sukhoi and Alenia Aeronautica.
