Snowstorms Hit Denver International Airport; Causes Delay and Cancellation of Flights
Winter landed in Colorado with a huge and sudden surprise of a wave of snowstorms, causing the delay and cancellation of many flights at the Denver International Airport on Friday at midday. According to Flight Aware, 437 flights were cancelled, and 522 flights were delayed. However, a couple of questions come to mind: What is the current situation at Denver International Airport, and what is the operation system to deal with such sudden incidents?
The Current Situation

Cancelling or delaying flights is normal due to different causes; however, this leads to huge trouble for travelers. Snowstorms are not something new in Denver International Airport, changing the plans and schedules of travelers. The airport posted on X that the crew is trying their best to control the snow; travelers should arrive early for their flight as there is a possibility of delay or cancellation. However, the airport had to delay and cancel some flights. Dealing with snowstorms is a normal measure for Denver International Airport, so how is the operation system during such storms?
The Operating System During Snowstorms

As a part of the Snowbelt, there is always an operating system to maintain an effective approach to controlling snow. This approach goes from ploughing runways to watch the weather closely for any possible delay or cancellation of flights. The measures of dealing with snowstorms should be operated smoothly with no mistakes because any small flow will lead to chaos. Paying attention to the places that require the constant snow-removing such as access roads, emergency response roads, parking lots, gate, ramp areas, and deicing pads. Though, during snowstorms, the crew do their best, sometimes things go out of control causing much damage.
The Expected Future

Delaying or cancelling flights because of the snowstorms is a normal consequence. However, the blame cannot fall on the operating system of airports as the airport crew employs every possible measure to control the situation. The question raised in mind is whether there will be newer measures to combat snowstorms impacting the airport in the future. We live in the era of technology where almost everything is possible. However, we have to wait and see what happens in the future.
