Egyptair Resumes Tokyo Flights and Launches New Routes to Expand

Egyptair

Egyptair is set to resume flights to Japan in September after a three-year hiatus, with flights to Tokyo Narita International Airport using the Boeing 777-300 aircraft. The airline has also announced the launch of new flights to India and Libya, as well as boosting its operations in the regional market, in line with the Egyptian government’s directive to intensify operations and boost the nation’s civil aviation sector.

Return to Tokyo Narita

Egyptair will resume flights to Tokyo Narita on September 12, 2023, with two weekly flights between Cairo International Airport and Tokyo Narita. The flights will be operated on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with return services on Wednesdays and Fridays. The airline last served Japan in early 2020 before the COVID-19 pandemic, and the resumption of flights is a sign of the recovery of air travel in North Africa.

The Boeing 777-300 aircraft has a two-class configuration, with 297 economy class seats and 49 business class seats. The airline will be the only airline operating flights between Cairo and Tokyo this summer, with flights only served to Narita International Airport.

Flights to Delhi

In addition to Tokyo, Egyptair has announced the launching of new international flights to New Delhi, India. The flights will begin on August 1, 2023, operating four times a week between Cairo and Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport. The Airbus A320neo aircraft will be used for the route, offering a two-class configuration with 126 economy class seats and 16 business class seats.

The new route is expected to increase tourism and business travel between the two countries, providing new opportunities for travelers and businesses. The resumption of flights to Tokyo and the launch of new flights to Delhi demonstrate Egyptair’s commitment to expanding its route network and providing more options for travelers.

Boosting Regional Operations

In addition to international routes, Egyptair is also set to boost its operations in the regional market, with plans to start flying to Libya’s Misrata International Airport from Cairo in September. The airline aims to leverage its geographical location as a hub for expansion, connecting North Africa with other regions around the world.

The expansion of Egyptair’s route network is in line with the Egyptian government’s efforts to boost the civil aviation sector and increase tourism and business travel to the country. The airline is committed to providing safe and reliable air travel to passengers, while also contributing to the growth of the aviation industry in the region.
