What Are the Best Trainer Aircraft in the World?

Flight schools around the world use various types of trainer aircraft. In this article I will mention few of the best aircraft for training. Flight schools choose their aircraft according to what suits their training and vision. Nonetheless, all trainer airplanes are designed specifically to assist with the flight training of pilots and aircrew. Private and Commercial pilots are usually trained in light aircraft, with two or more seats for the students and instructors. What are few of the best trainer airplanes out there?

Cessna 172

Starting with the most popular single-engine aircraft, Cessna 172. It has ideal characteristics for any flight school, a glass cockpit accompanied with G1000 avionics, slow landing speed, great visibility, and a forgiving stall. Making the Cessna 172 perfect for training for student pilots.

Diamond DA40

The DA40 was the first to use G1000 and has excellent visibility increasing the safety, especially when flying in congested airspace. It is an Austrian four-seat, single-engine, light aircraft constructed from composite materials and built-in both Austria and Canada by Austrian company Diamond Aircraft Industries. I’ve seen one arrive at my airport from Cyprus, the pilot was making a cross-country flight, it’s magnificent. No wonder why many flight schools prefer to use it to train their students.

Cirrus SR20

Produced in 1999, the Cirrus SR20 was one the first airplanes to provide “advanced technology” avionics. What’s interesting is that it was the first to be equipped with a parachute to lower the airplane to the ground in case of loss of control or other emergencies. It’s also popular with numerous flight schools, private individuals, and companies.

Cessna 152

Last but not least, my favorite, the Cessna 152 is an aircraft that requires vigilance in tricky winds, a trait that has made them best trainers. The Cessna 152 is certificated in the utility category and is designed for limited aerobatic flight. Personally I thought it was perfect for training, it leaves complexity behind. Even though not many favors it, given a chance, it can offer one of the best flight experiences.
