Oman Air has secured a significant sponsorship deal with Chelsea FC, becoming the football club’s global airline partner for the next three years. As part of the agreement, Oman Air will showcase its branding at Stamford Bridge, the team’s home stadium, and unveil a specially designed co-branded livery on one of its Boeing 787-9 aircraft, to be used on its daily service from Muscat to London Heathrow. The livery will feature the Chelsea FC logo on the tail and the Oman Air branding on the engine, with the fuselage painted in the club’s colors. Oman Air’s long-standing sports sponsorships

Although this partnership marks Oman Air’s first-ever Premier League sponsorship, the airline has a rich history of sports sponsorships, including a decade-long partnership with the Oman Football Association, as well as support for Oman Sail, Oman Golf Association, Oman Desert Marathon, and Oman’s Paralympic Team.

The airline’s CEO, Eng. Abdulaziz Al Raisi, said the partnership would help showcase Oman’s beauty, culture, and hospitality to Chelsea’s extensive fan base. With over 135 million fans, 85% of whom are in international markets, the partnership will provide an unparalleled platform to cultivate awareness of Oman in new markets across the globe.

Chelsea FC CEO, Chris Jurasek, expressed his excitement about the partnership, citing the shared ambition for innovation and success both on and off the pitch. The Premier League is considered the most followed and well-known football league globally, with a seasonal audience of over three billion people.

Oman Air’s fleet and Oneworld alliance

Oman Air’s fleet currently consists of 51 aircraft, including seven Airbus A330 widebodies and several variations of the Boeing 737. The airline’s fleet also includes seven Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, with an eighth expected to join the fleet later this year. Oman Air plans to join the Oneworld alliance by the end of next year.

The airline recently reintroduced services to the Maldives, utilizing its 162-seat Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft on the route, which operates four times a week.

Oman Air’s partnership with Chelsea FC marks a significant step for the airline in expanding its global brand awareness. The partnership will provide a unique platform for Oman Air to showcase its brand to millions of football fans worldwide, while also promoting Oman’s tourism industry. With the airline set to join the oneworld alliance next year, this partnership could be the first of many exciting collaborations with global brands.
